Pack Yer Bags For Edinburgh...

Well done to Marianne Bentham and her team of NYJO1ers who braved the hustle and bustle of Mothering Sunday Dine In Weekend at Marks & Spencers West Bridgford on Saturday, to pack bags for customers and raise money for the NYJO tour to Edinburgh in the summer.  The amount raised is still to be announced...  Thanks for organising it all Marianne!

Marianne taking a well earned rest...

Heroes & Villains

A good time was had by all at the recent NYO/NYJO collaboration concert at Nottingham's Royal Concert Hall.

As they say "a picture is worth a thousand words"...

From left to right:  Katniss (the Hunger Games), Superman, the red cape of Violet (The Incredibles), Female Superman, Prim (The Hunger Games), Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, Batman, James Bond, Batman (returns...), Generic Masked Villain No.1, Musketeer, Generic Masked Villain No.2.  Also performing but not in shot were Spiderman and King Kong.  Jolly good show NYJO2!

Check out the new NYJO pull-up banner in the background.  We've wanted one of these for a while, and thanks to the Bingham Busking effort pre-Christmas, we were able to afford this one!  Thanks to all who contributed musical and monetarily...

Itube, Wetube, Theytube, Youtube...

Just to let you know, I've started a new Notts NYJO channel on Youtube.

Keep checking in to see the latest video clips from recent NYJO gigs.

Video footage of NYJO1, NYJO2 and Combo.

Billson's Bounce

NYJO said a big "Thank You" to Carl Billson at the Lakeside gig, in recognition of all NYJO acheived as a result of his hard work.

We presented Carl with a lead sheet for "Billson's Bounce", shortly before NYJO combo performed the tune!  The tune was written for the combo by Ben, following Carl's announcement that he would be stepping down from the NYJO Committee, having been Chairman since the committee began!

Carl (Centre) pictured with Ben (Left), Phil (Right) and "Billson's Bounce" (in frame).

We're delighted that it's not a final goodbye, and Carl will stay in touch with NYJO through his work with Miles Ahead and Jazz Steps.

Lakeside Snaps

Check out the new set of photos from the recent Lakeside gig.  NYJO's annual winter gig once again proved a great success, with all three bands playing great tunes.

NYJO "massed band" performs a 12 minute "James Bond Theme Medley".  The audience were shaken but not stirred...

Many thanks to Graham Rabbitts for the excellent photos.
